Meriem focuses on understanding how technology impacts society and how we can leverage it to create a more just, equitable, and humane world. In her current role at VMware, she shapes social innovation strategy aimed at building a more sustainable, equitable and secure future by integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals across the company and aligning them with core business strategy. This has included initiatives focused on supporting nonprofit digital transformation, advancing digital skills, and embedding digital ethics. Prior to joining VMware, Meriem held several roles focused on creating systems change for a better future. This work included leading conflict resolution programs at the Carter Center with the UN, researching global public health policy at LSE and Columbia University, and serving on the board of Young Women Social Entrepreneurs. She cares deeply about building community and regularly engages in mentorship, research, and dialogues at the intersections of social innovation, social entrepreneurship, digital ethics, and tech policy. She’s a Registered Yoga Teacher, ice cream aficionado, and channels her love for music and dance as a DJ.
