Marc Fleischmann is the VMware Cloud CTO, with industry-defining franchises like VMware Managed Cloud (VMC), Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), and vSAN. Prior to accepting this role, Marc was CEO/President and Co-Founder of Datera, a storage and data services company for tier-1 clouds, and Co-Founder of the Open-Source Business Alliance, Europe's largest open-source ecosystem hub. Earlier in his career, he was the General Product Manager (GPM) of Microsoft's Mediaroom Business Unit, a General Manager/SVP at Pixelworks (a public media-processor company), and a senior executive at Transmeta (a public software-defined microprocessor company). Marc started his career as a Research Scientist at Hewlett-Packard Labs. Marc holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Business from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), along with a number of software and microprocessor patents.
