We are proud to announce our associate membership in the Software Assurance Forum for Excellence in Code (SAFECode). The forum is exclusively dedicated to increasing trust in information and communications technology products and services through the advancement of effective software assurance methods. SAFECode is a global, industry-led effort to identify and promote best practices for developing and delivering more secure and reliable software and services.
Becoming a part of this community of thought leaders and applying the principles developed therein will facilitate VMware’s goal of providing more transparency in our software assurance processes and practices to help customers and other key stakeholders manage risk effectively. The exchange of cutting-edge security strategies and insights within the forum can also improve industry-wide agility in dealing with the evolving threat landscape, positively impacting the security and reliability of the technology ecosystem. VMware’s Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) is heavily influenced by SAFECode, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to and draw from the software assurance guidance promoted by SAFECode.
VMware is taking a proactive, innovative and comprehensive approach to reassure our customers’ trust in our products and services. Our commitment is demonstrated by our well-established security programs and practices designed to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in our products and mitigate software security risks for our customers.
