We just packaged up an amazing collection of technical papers representing the breadth and depth of VMware’s technologies for a special edition of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Operating Systems Review (OSR).
OSR is a publication of the ACM Special Interest Group on Operating Systems (SIGOPS), whose scope of interest includes: computer operating systems and architecture for multiprogramming, multiprocessing, and time sharing; resource management; evaluation and simulation; reliability, integrity, and security of data; communications among computing processors; and computer system modeling and analysis. All of these areas are of particular importance to VMware.
The OSR Editor is Jeanna Matthews from Clarkson University. We are extremely appreciative of her invitation to participate in this upcoming issue!
There are 14 papers with over 150 pages of rich content covering VMware’s Hypervisor, Storage, Networking, System Management, and other applications of virtualization technologies (Mobile, HPC…). These papers were written by top tier engineers from across VMware and include an overview of VMware’s systems research and development from Dr. Stephen Alan Herrod, Chief Technology Officer and SVP of R&D at VMware.
Be on the lookout for the OSR publication announcement in December!
